Video Basics (Presented by Sony)

Stills are great, sure, but have you ever seen a picture move?  If you’re a photographer who wants to become a videographer, join Sony Alpha Specialist Ashley Ondricek as he helps you take the leap from stills to moving pictures! Whether you want to make feature films or just get better at taking family videos, we will cover the basics including filmmaking concepts and rules, types of shots, moving the camera, and gear choices.

This class is for photographers of any skill level who want to jump into the world of videography. Bring your questions, we will wrap things up with a Q&A portion at the end of the presentation.

Low Light and Into the Night (Presented by Tamron)

Photographing in minimal light situations can prove challenging but can also lead to beautifully unique images. In this seminar, we will go back to basics to understand how our camera equipment functions in low light, how best to control apertures, shutter speeds and ISOs, as well as share tips to enhance our creative approach. This guide will show you how photographing the mood, playing with light painting, expressing movement, finding the Milky Way, and more are all reasons to not put your camera away when the light dwindles.

Macro and the Art of Flower Photography (Presented by Laowa)

From highly composed studio flower portraiture to wild flowers in a field, like bees, cameras are drawn towards flowers. Flowers have evolved to be attractive, that is its purpose. This program covers technical and creative concepts on: controlling focus, depth of field, using natural and "added" light and exploring flower shapes and features.


Cheryl Belczak is a photographer captivated by details. Close-up, Macro, Still Life, Floral, Food and Product photography are the creative challenges that interest her most. She enjoys experimenting with different lighting, shooting, editing and compositing techniques and is always happy to share her ideas. Her work plays through a spectrum between hyper-real and re-imagined reality.


Stephen Neff was 18 years old when he first started working in a camera store and discovered how rewarding it can be to help others make better images and capture memories. In the years since, Stephen has continued teaching photographers how to get the most out of their equipment. As National Sales Manager for Venus Optics he has gained unique insights into macro photography, its challenges and opportunities.

Night Photo Walk in the Wauwatosa Village

Join Art's Cameras and Tamron as we photograph the Wauwatosa Village at night. During the walk, we will explore many of the aspects of photographing in low light and at night, including exposure, focusing, composition, capturing motion and more. We will meet in front of Cafe Hollander. Photographers of all skill levels are welcome and Tamron loaner lenses will be available. Please bring your tripods. Then visit Art's Cameras Greenfield on Saturday, June 4th to print a 13x19 of your favorite photo from the walk.
