Digital Photo 101
The class emphasizes the digital basics and how to achieve good quality images and prints. Learn what your camera does automatically, what you can change manually, how to increase your camera’s speed, how many pixels you need, and how to get the photos into your computer. Plus, time is given to using three printing methods: inkjet (home), "kiosks", and ordering online. As with all our classes, we try to cover general topics, but there is also plenty of time given to individual attention and questions. $20 per person.
Digital Photo 201 - For Digital SLRs
This class has been restructured to better address the more advanced questions of our digital SLR users. Learn the differences between your 35mm SLR and your new Digital SLR. Learn to use auto-focus, better control exposures, and use white balance settings. Please take time to explore your camera's menu options before attending this class. $20 per person.
DSLR Intermediate - for Nikon, Canon, Pentax, & Olympus
Students should have attended Digital 201 DSLR course or have equivalent experience/knowledge.
Moving beyond the basics, this course is for Digital SLR owners looking to fully understand and appreciate their camera. Topics include: getting the most out of the camera's metering and exposure functions, understanding histograms and custom white balance, proper lens choice, maximizing quality with RAW files, converting RAW files in the computer, and more! Students should have attended DSLR 201 course or have equivalent knowledge. $25 per person.
External Flash for Digital SLRs
Already own or thinking of purchasing an external flash? Learning and understanding flash photography has challenged photographers for years. Let Art's teach you how flash/light works, TTL and manual exposure for flash, guide number/power settings, and flash metering techniques. Bring your camera, meter (if any), and external flash with fresh/charged batteries. $30 per person.
Photographic Composition (any camera)
Want to take even better photos? The secret to an award-winning photo is great composition. Learn to visualize and create great photos using all of the key elements of composition. Bring your camera and 5 favorite photos on CD/DVD to class for critique at end of class. $30 per person.
Organize, Edit, Share, and Create with your Digital Pictures
How do you fully enjoy all those digital photos? Learn how to easily get photos into your computer to organize, categorize, and share them; quickly email photos; add text; and perform basic enhancements such as cropping, converting to black & white, and red eye removal. See how easy printing, storing photos on CD, and creating collages, cards, and gifts can be. Share albums of photos with family and friends. $30 per person.
OLYMPUS A-Z Compact Digital vs Digital SLR
What’s the difference between a compact/pocket camera versus a full size SLR? Join Olympus Technical Rep, Nate Ross, as he guides you through the differences between the two systems so you can make the best decision for your needs! NIKON DSLR Tips and Tricks
Turn your snapshots into creative works of art. This class will focus on getting you out of the “GREEN” mode and into the Nikon creative modes. TAMRON Secrets to Creating Great Photos
It’s no secret that great photos start with great lenses. Delivered by industry insider, Jeff Allen, this informative class takes you behind the lens. You will learn a multitude of useful photographic tips and insights that will improve your picture taking abilities. Topics will include: when and how to use different lenses, changing your perspective to create dramatic effects, making the most of available light, and more. Class includes a free tip book!
